Water efficiency

Growing plants requires significant water consumption. Our new approach allows us to save a lot of water and prevents the soil from being contaminated.

There are various ways to water the plants. Several years ago, we switched most of our area to substrate cultivation, which is performed ‘at height’. With this method, we water the plants more frequently, but also do so in a more targeted fashion, allowing for more accurate dosing. The result: 20-30 percent lower water consumption.

No soil contamination

Because we work at height, greatly improving the accuracy of our dosing, hardly any water flows into the soil, which means that almost no fertilizers enter into the soil, reducing soil contamination. Besides, this method is cheaper in the long term, as it requires less fertilizer. On top of that it is much more hygienic, which is becoming an ever more important topic in our line of business.
