Hot water thanks to solar energy Around our greenhouses we are installing 5000 m2 of solar panels. These will be used to heat up the water for our begonia greenhouses with natural energy.
The surface area of the greenhouses in question covers more than 5 hectares, which have to be kept at the ideal temperature 24/7. That requires a heating system, especially at night. A number of large buffer tanks and a solar field with 5000 m2 solar panels are enough to do the job.
Long-term project
This development has been going on quite some time, but it will take a while before it is finished. The project has required investments amounting to a few million euros.
