Twelve years ago, we founded our own Health Center for all our employees and their relatives. A complete medical team takes care of all their healthcare needs. The Health Center has opened up to the local community too since 2008.
The team has about 50 employees, including a full-time doctor, 4 midwives, several clinical officers and various nurses and laboratory technicians. Between 5 and 10 surgeries are performed every week, and over 350 infants are born there on an annual basis (regularly after a cesarean section). In total, the Health Center has close to 40,000 visits every year.
This has given the Health Center an important role in the community. In some cases, Entebbe Hospital even refers patients to the clinic. A key note: the Health Center was made possible by support provided by the German development bank (in 2008) in a PPP project.
