Our employees often used to cook their meals on energy-guzzling cookers. Hardly surprising, as they could rarely afford energy-efficient cookers. Thanks to a Wagagai project, they can now.

As a company, we now purchase energy-efficient cookers in bulk, which is part of the reason we can offer them to our employees for lower prices than usual. In addition, we allow our employees to pay for their new cookers through small monthly payments, making it a lot easier for them to make the switch.

We have also made the switch to energy-efficient cookers in both of our large kitchens, which has significant impact, considering the fact that we provide lunch to over 2,000 people on a daily basis.

Awareness

The project has also proven to have a very beneficial side effect: it creates awareness. Partly thanks to the project and the measures we take as a company (such as the switch to led lamps and the use of solar energy to heat our water), we have seen that more people are becoming aware of the fact that we have to be careful with our planet.
